This is not a traditional accounting role. This is a full-time, on-site Senior Forensic Accountant role based in Somerset West. We are looking for a Senior Forensic Accountant who can think critically, communicate confidently, and drive matters forward.
Responsibilities
- Investigate financial irregularities and discrepancies.
- Analyse financial data and identify what doesn’t make sense.
- Investigate and determine reasons for irregularities, inconsistencies and discrepancies.
- Reconstruct financial information for various scenarios.
- Quantify losses in insurance and litigation contexts.
- Prepare clear, defensible reports.
- Engage directly with clients, attorneys, insurers, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct well-formulated research to gather appropriate information suitable to the circumstances of any particular matter.
Qualifications
Forensure is looking for someone with the following qualifications, experience and skills:
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years’ relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Preference to someone holding a qualification in accounting and/or finance and/or forensics (CA(SA), AGA(SA), CFE, CFP or similar).
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with incomplete or conflicting information.
- Proficiency in forensic analysis and forensic accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of the flow of financial information in the context of Financial Statements and related documentation.
- Proficiency in problem-solving.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent forensic report writing skills.
- Experience in forensic accounting.
- Equally comfortable in the frontline and back-office positions.
- Confidence to pick up the phone and drive conversations forward.
- Appropriate organisation skills to up and push for information where needed.
- Skilled at handling direct and sometimes uncomfortable discussions.
- Engage confidently in face-to-face consultations.
- Take ownership and get matters moved forward.
