Senior Frontend Software Engineer

Your role in the team

Your FUTURE WORKPLACE and TECH STACK

You will be building state‑of‑the‑art data visualization platforms with a real impact in biomedical research from our new office building in Linz, Austria.

We rely on state‑of‑the‑art tooling to build performant React TypeScript applications, end‑to‑end tested with Playwright in our Github Actions CI/CD pipelines, with Docker images deployed to our Kubernetes clusters via ArgoCD, ultimately being monitored with OpenTelemetry, LGTM, Sentry.

Responsibilities

• Pushing what web applications are capable of by building state‑of‑the‑art data analysis platforms using the latest technologies.
• Cooperation with leading research labs in the field of data visualisation, complemented by growth opportunities like attending conferences, obtaining certifications, mentoring young talents.
• The compensation range for this position is € 65,000 to € 75,000 per year. In practice, the compensation package will be adjusted to your qualifications and experience.

Our expectations: Qualifications

• You don't just use React and popular libraries like tanstack/* or Mantine, but build your own hooks, components and abstractions with reusability and testability in mind.
• You have applied key concepts related to processing large sets of data in browsers, i.e., efficient data querying and streaming (REST, GraphQL, SSE) performant rendering and virtualization, GPU‑accelerated visualizations or offloading computations to workers or WASM modules

Desired profile

• You consider yourself a go‑to person for modern web development knowing what's new in JS/TS and CSS and deciding on tooling like tsgo, oxlint and rspack to keep us on the cutting edge.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and an independent, reliable approach to teamwork with the ability to mentor and coach junior talents.
• You show excellent knowledge of English

Experience

• You have 4+ years of professional experience with building data‑heavy web applications, with expert‑level knowledge in React and TypeScript.
• Experience in integrating AI into applications (i.e., AI SDK, AG‑UI, CopilotKit), bioinformatics, or data visualisation is a plus.
