Lexaru is a young GovTech / LegalTech startup that digitizes administrative processes with modern applications. With our products, we make a significant contribution to a strong democracy, efficient administration, and satisfied citizens.

We work with, among others, municipal administrations / foreigners' authorities / specialist offices and build specialized applications for case workers. Lexaru is characterized by AI-supported modules in secure and traceable systems.

The team currently consists of the 3 founders and already serves several customers, including the state capital Düsseldorf. We are proud to have already built successful companies, to bring professional experience from finance and software engineering, and to have a strong academic background. Role Profile

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer (m/f/d) with a strong focus on web product development and AI/LLM integration, who will help build our team technically in the long term and co-design our GovTech platform for public administrations.

• Compensation: Salary depending on experience and expertise, bonus payments planned, employee participation possible

Responsibilities

Product & Development

You are 100% Full Stack and develop end-to-end features and complete internal tools: from idea to architecture, implementation, testing, and rollout. This also includes designing simple UI/UX and the necessary backend engineering. You can build quick MVPs as well as refined production features.

AI / LLM

You integrate LLMs into our products, have experience with basic technologies like RAG pipelines (indexing, embeddings, chunking, evaluation), and develop prompt design, guardrails, logging, and monitoring of AI functions.

Architecture & Operations

You contribute to the architecture of our platform (services, data model, security), share responsibility for deployment / CI/CD / monitoring with us, and ensure security, performance, costs, and stability in production operation.

Collaboration & Product Thinking

You work closely with the founders and (pilot) customers, translate user needs into technical solutions and clear user stories, contribute your own ideas, participate in prioritization, and make pragmatic technical decisions.

Qualifications

Must Haves – Technical

• Several years of experience in professional product development (Full-Stack). (Benchmark 4+ years; if you have less experience but think you are a good fit, convince us of your expertise)
• Very good knowledge of modern frontend frameworks like TypeScript, ideally Svelte or Vue
• Very good knowledge of modern backend frameworks like Node.js or Django
• Experience with relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL including schema design and performance basics

Must Haves – Work Style, Languages & Personality

• Strong ownership mindset: you see features not as tickets, but as a problem-solution package that you are responsible for.
• Product focus: you want to understand how specialized procedures work in administrations to build meaningful UIs & flows.
• Ability to work with little process structure in an early phase
