About this Position

What you will do

• Build and Ship: Design, implement, and ship end-to-end fullstack features across React and Python/FastAPI.
• Architectural Ownership: Own the architecture, performance, and security of mission-critical, high-risk health data services.
• Cross-Functional Synergy: Collaborate directly and daily with our CTO, product team, and other elite engineers to accelerate feature velocity.
• Uptime Accountability: Monitor, debug, and fix production issues proactively, including taking absolute ownership for incident handling.
• Technical Mentorship: Guide your peers through rigorous code reviews, pair programming sessions, and support the hiring and onboarding of new engineers.
• Standard Setting: Shape and influence our core engineering standards and write concise technical documentation to maintain high code quality.
• Agile Excellence: Participate in agile rituals, lean delivery processes, and our annual workation hackathons.

Tech stack and tools

• Core Languages & Frameworks: Deep Python (FastAPI or similar) and TypeScript/React.
• Databases: Confident handling of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Architecture & Deployment: REST APIs, Microservices, Cloud-native deployment, and robust CI/CD pipelines.
• Workflows & Security: Git-based workflows (GitHub/GitLab), agile/lean delivery, and highly secure-by-design patterns.
• Daily Hardware & AI Support: Claude Code Max Plan for AI-powered development, plus your choice of a high-end MacBook Pro and a 4K monitor.

What you will need

• Engineering Excellence: Deep, proven production experience in Python and TypeScript/React.
• End-to-End Delivery: A minimum of 3 years of experience in full feature ownership within B2B SaaS or B2C web apps.
• System Mastery: Confidence in SQL/NoSQL, REST API design, debugging, and system observability in uptime-critical, cloud-native environments.
• Ownership Mindset: A high-ownership mentality, proactive problem-solving skills, and on-call-readiness for incident handling around critical launches.
• Resilience: Previous startup or scale-up experience where you thrived under pressure and extended hours, successfully leaving any "9-to-5" corporate mentality behind.
• Communication: Full fluency in English (C1+) for clear, complex technical communication.
• Availability: Willingness to relocate to Berlin within 3 months and valid work authorization for Germany, or eligibility for Blue Card sponsorship.
• Nice-to-Have: Hands-on experience with High-Risk Data Handling (Health Tech, Life Science, Defense), infra-as-code, and mentoring peers.
