Senior Accountant – Private Equity / Fund Accounting

Cherry Bekaert is partnering with a well‑established, private equity firm that is expanding its finance team and looking to add a hands‑on Senior Accountant. This role offers broad exposure across fund accounting, LP reporting, audits, and firm operations within a lean, collaborative environment.

What You’ll Do:

Fund Accounting & Investor Reporting

• Support quarterly and annual financial reporting for multiple private equity funds, working closely with an outsourced fund administrator
• Assist with capital calls, distributions, LP capital accounts, and investor statements
• Maintain investor portals and respond to ad‑hoc Limited Partner reporting requests
• Perform partnership accounting across complex fund and entity structures

Closings, Audits & Transactions

• Serve as a key point of contact for interim and year‑end audits, coordinating with external auditors
• Assist with investment transactions, including funds flow reviews, allocations, and wiring activity
• Support fundraising and diligence efforts by preparing schedules and responding to data requests

Treasury, Compliance & Operations

• Help manage cash and treasury activity across funds, including capital activity, reserves, and bill payments
• Support management fee calculations, waterfalls, IRRs, and other fund‑level analytics
• Partner with internal teams on SEC compliance initiatives, vendor diligence, and required filings
• Assist with management company accounting, intercompany allocations, expense reporting, and 1099 preparation

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of experience in private equity, alternative investments, real estate funds, asset management, or fund administration
• Solid understanding of fund and partnership accounting
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with complex datasets
• Experience coordinating with fund administrators, auditors, and tax providers
• Detail‑oriented, reliable, and comfortable in a lean, fast‑paced environment
• CPA is a plus but not required
