About The Senior Fund Accounting Manager
This position is responsible for the day-to-day fund accounting, financial close, and investor reporting for multiple private equity real estate funds. The role offers ownership of complex fund structures and serves as a key accounting liaison across internal teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities of the Senior Fund Accounting Manager
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closes for closed-end private equity funds and related non-property entities
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, fund governing documents, and internal policies
- Review and maintain investor capital accounts, capital calls, distributions, and related investor notices
- Prepare and review NAV calculations, carried interest, and management/incentive fee computations
- Partner with asset management to understand operating results, valuation changes, and transaction impacts
- Support investor reporting, including financial statements, schedules, and ad hoc investor requests
- Monitor fund-level cash activity and distribution planning
- Oversee preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and compliance reporting
- Coordinate audit and tax processes, including preparation of PBC schedules
- Manage external fund administrators and drive continuous improvement in reporting quality and processes
- Document and maintain fund accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare and oversee annual budgets and periodic reforecasts
- Directly manage and mentor a Senior Fund Accountant
- Serve as a technical accounting resource and point of escalation for fund-related issues
Qualifications Of The Senior Fund Accounting Manager
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- CPA required or strongly preferred (active or inactive considered)
- 4–7+ years of fund accounting experience
- Experience supporting institutional investors required
- Real estate fund experience strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and private equity investment accounting
- Prior experience working with fund administrators and external auditors
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to balance hands-on execution with leadership responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
