Senior Geostructural Engineer

Marathon Underground Constructors Corporation is looking for a senior Geostructural Engineer to join our team in Eastern Canada.

Marathon Underground specializes in excavation shoring construction, deep foundation construction, tunnelling, trenchless construction, and a broad variety of heavy civil works, including services to the mining industry. Marathon’s in-house engineering groups supports the design‑build components of that work.

Responsibilities

• Developing and/or reviewing the design of temporary excavation shoring systems (support of excavation) and deep foundations, as well as other temporary or permanent works related to slope stabilization and tunnels.
• Assist with the management and mentoring of a team of engineers working on the preparation of construction drawings.
• Performing and/or reviewing calculations and analyses, related to both structural and geotechnical designs.
• Provide technical support to the estimating team to the development of construction cost estimates/bids.
• Coordination with clients and Marathon’s construction staff
• Carry out site reviews during construction.
• Participating in sales presentations and business development activities.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher-level degree) in Civil Engineering
• Eligibility for P. Eng. license (or EIT) in Ontario, or Alberta, or Quebec.
• Experience with structural and/or geotechnical design.
• Previous experience with shoring and deep foundations is ideal.
• Valid driver’s license and clean drivers abstract is required.
