About the role

Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join their globally distributed team. This is a completely remote position, offering the unique advantage of contributing your expertise without geographical constraints. You will be responsible for conducting remote site assessments, performing advanced geotechnical analyses, and providing critical recommendations for a diverse range of infrastructure and development projects.

Responsibilities: Lead the planning and execution of remote geotechnical site investigations, utilizing available data and remote sensing technologies. Interpret complex subsurface data, including soil and rock mechanics, groundwater conditions, and seismic hazards, using advanced analytical tools. Perform detailed geotechnical analyses, such as slope stability, foundation settlement, bearing capacity, liquefaction potential, and seismic response analyses. Develop design recommendations for various foundation types (shallow and deep), retaining structures, earthworks, and ground improvement techniques. Prepare comprehensive geotechnical investigation and design reports, clearly outlining findings, analyses, and actionable recommendations. Collaborate effectively with clients, project managers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams through virtual communication channels. Review and approve geotechnical designs and reports produced by junior engineers, ensuring adherence to the highest professional standards. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering software, methodologies, and best practices for remote analysis. Ensure all geotechnical recommendations and designs comply with relevant national and international codes, standards, and regulations. Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets for geotechnical engineering scopes of work. Provide expert technical consultation and support on challenging geotechnical issues encountered in projects. Qualifications: Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering (with a geotechnical specialization), or a closely related field. Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent licensed status is highly preferred. A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in geotechnical engineering, with a strong emphasis on site investigation, analysis, and foundation design. Demonstrated expertise in analyzing a wide range of soil and rock conditions and complex geotechnical challenges. Proficiency in industry-standard geotechnical analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, GeoStudio Suite, FLAC3D). Experience with remote sensing data analysis, GIS applications, and virtual collaboration platforms is essential. Solid understanding of geological principles and their impact on geotechnical engineering. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts effectively to diverse audiences. Proven ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects, and deliver high-quality results in a remote work environment.
