Senior GitLab DevOps Engineer – Enterprise Toolchain & CI/CD

Location

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (Onsite)

Contract Duration

12 Months (Project-Based which may potentially extend basis performance and project scope)

Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior GitLab DevOps Engineer to support the implementation of a centralized enterprise project management and engineering toolchain. The role focuses on GitLab CI/CD standardization, DevOps governance, and toolchain integrations, enabling end-to-end traceability across project management, development, testing, and delivery systems. The engineer will work closely with PMO, engineering, QA, and platform teams to ensure CI/CD pipelines align with enterprise governance, Agile delivery models, and audit requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain GitLab CI/CD pipelines, runners, and repository standards
• Standardize branching strategies, tagging, and release management across teams
• Enable commit, merge request, and pipeline metadata traceability across the toolchain
• Support DevOps governance, release visibility, and audit readiness
• Configure secure access controls, secrets management, and environment variables
• Support pilot migrations, integration testing, UAT, and production cutover
• Provide post go-live hypercare, operational support, and issue resolution
• Produce technical documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge transfer materials
• Integrate GitLab with:
  • Jira (issue, epic, and backlog linkage)
  • Microsoft Project / Planner (project-level delivery traceability)
  • TestRail (test execution and quality visibility)

Deliverables

• Standardized GitLab CI/CD pipeline templates
• GitLab integration configurations and mapping documentation
• DevOps governance standards (branching, releases, tagging)
• Operational runbooks and SOPs
• Support documentation for testing, migration, and hypercare

Required Skills & Experience

Mandatory

• 6 –10+ years of experience in DevOps / CI/CD engineering
• Strong hands‑on expertise with GitLab (SCM, CI/CD, Runners, Integrations)
• Proven experience integrating GitLab with Jira and test management tools (TestRail preferred)
• Solid understanding of Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and release management practices
• Experience working in enterprise or regulated environments

Preferred

• Experience integrating DevOps pipelines with enterprise PMO or project management platforms
• Exposure to Microsoft ecosystem (Active Directory, Project, Planner, Power Platform)
• Experience supporting large‑scale digital, AI, or product development programs
