As a part of the Emergent AI Infrastructure team, you will build the next-generation of on-prem AI infrastructure to bring the best of Google to empower frontier model and AI solution builders to advance the capabilities for AI around the world. As a part of this team, your role will involve exposure to fully integrated AI infrastructure systems, from hardware to software design and workload management.

In this role, you will build AI clusters using the latest technologies for AI acceleration and cluster interconnects and networking. You will build the AI infrastructure for the future and brand new products rather than just evolving an existing one.

Responsibilities

  • Identify flaws and issues with hardware components by analyzing key issues, risks, or trade-offs, and address new hardware failures by driving corrective solutions.
  • Manage the hardware and software innovation group responsible for adapting and creating hardware and software for new emergent AI products in close collaboration with other hardware and software teams in cloud.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and fostering professional development.
  • Co-ordinate distributed operations across the US, Asia, and Europe, guiding engineers as they collaborate across continents to build a brand-new AI infrastructure product.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally by partnering with tech leads, tech lead managers, and engineering managers across the organization to deliver results.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience working in a hardware systems design environment.
  • 5 years of experience managing an engineering team.
  • Experience with power circuit design and signal integrity.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in a related technical field.
  • 7 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • 5 years of experience leading a team of engineers to build AI infrastructure.
  • 5 years of experience building or operating AI accelerator hardware or advanced AI accelerator interconnect networks.
