To strengthen our team at the Linz location, we are looking for you as a Senior HW Development Engineer (Embedded) (w/m/d/x).
General Responsibilities
- Collaboration in the concept development and system design of electronic and electromechanical assemblies/systems/interfaces
- Analysis of requirements
- Product Development:
- Design of electronic circuits (schematics)
- PCB/PCBA layout design
- Specification of cables and components
- Support in specifying HW/SW interfaces and creating technical requirements/specifications
- Support in creating test concepts for PCB/PCBA validation (durability, EMC/EMI, stress tests, etc.) and series production (quality assurance)
- Collaboration with internal and external development partners
- Technical contact with suppliers and production sites
- Technical support in the construction, commissioning, and testing of prototypes and verification measurements of electronic assemblies and devices
- Development processes and documentation according to relevant regulations
Main Responsibilities
- Design, development, and validation of hardware systems based on microcontrollers, DSPs, and communication interfaces
- Creation of schematics and PCB/PCBA layout design with Altium Designer (experience with other EDA tools is an advantage)
- Development and integration of communication electronics (e.g., UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, LIN, NFC, Ethernet, IO-Link, industrial fieldbuses like ProfiNet, EtherCAT, Modbus, wireless)
- Execution of electronic simulations and analyses (analog, digital, power, and signal integrity)
- Definition and implementation of hardware startup, test, and debugging procedures
- Collaboration with firmware developers for seamless hardware-software integration
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards (IEC, IPC, UL, EMC/EMI, safety, reliability, automotive/industrial where applicable)
- Support in prototype assembly, verification, and validation through PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes
- Contribution to documentation, design reviews, and continuous product improvement.
Our Requirements
Qualifications and Requirements
- Completed studies (Bachelor or Master) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a comparable field
- At least 5 years of professional experience in embedded hardware development
- Proficient in schematic and PCB/PCBA design (Altium Designer)
- Solid knowledge in the development of microcontroller-based systems, including power supplies
- Experience with circuit simulation (e.g., LTSpice, PSpice, Multisim, MATLAB/Simulink)
- Very good understanding of analog and digital circuits (operational amplifiers, ADC/DAC, filters, voltage regulation)
- Demonstrable expertise in EMI/EMC design techniques and standards-compliant hardware development
- Knowledge of PCBA manufacturing processes (DFM/DFT, bills of materials, assembly specifications, test strategies)
- Practical experience in debugging with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multimeters, and other laboratory measuring equipment
- Ability for fault analysis and optimization of hardware regarding performance, cost, and reliability
- Very good German and English skills (at least B2)
