Senior Hybrid Cloud / Infrastructure Engineer - 100% Remote - R1m PA

Introduction

An elite AI and data-driven consulting group is building a bench of Senior Infrastructure Engineers to deploy into complex, high-impact client environments.

This is not a junior ops role; This is not a “keep the lights on” position.

You’ll be dropped into environments that are messy, critical, or half-built — and expected to stabilise, modernise, and set the standard for what good looks like.

If you’re the engineer people call when systems are on fire, under-designed, or mission-critical — this role is built for you.

Duties & Responsibilities

What You’ll Be Doing

• Designing, deploying, and operating hybrid infrastructure (on-prem + AWS, Azure, GCP)

• Leading on-prem → cloud / hybrid migrations with minimal downtime

• Driving cloud optimisation across cost, performance, and scalability

• Implementing Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible, or similar)

• Monitoring and troubleshooting with Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, ELK

• Ensuring security, resilience, DR, and compliance best practices

• Modernising and maintaining on-prem environments

(Linux/Windows, VMware/Hyper-V, networking, storage)

• Partnering with DevOps, Security, and Engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines

• Providing hands-on technical leadership to client engineering teams

• Participating in on-call rotations and capacity planning when required

• Producing clear, auditable documentation for architectures and processes

What We’re Looking For

• Senior-level infrastructure experience (this is not a learning role)

• Strong, hands-on expertise across hybrid cloud environments

• Proven delivery in complex, client-facing engagements

• Deep practical experience with IaC and automation

• Ability to work independently and influence technical direction

• Comfortable being dropped into unfamiliar environments and taking control fast
