Our client is a leader in industrial automation solutions and is seeking a highly skilled Senior Industrial Automation Engineer to join their esteemed team. This is a critical remote role focused on designing, implementing, and supporting automated systems for manufacturing and industrial processes. You will leverage your expertise in control systems, PLC programming, SCADA, and HMI development to enhance operational efficiency, quality, and safety for a global client base. This position requires a proactive and detail‑oriented individual who can manage complex projects from conception through to commissioning, all while working effectively in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Designing and developing automated control systems using PLCs, DCS, and other control platforms.
• Programming and configuring PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley, Omron) and HMIs.
• Developing and implementing SCADA systems for process monitoring and data acquisition.
• Creating and maintaining detailed engineering documentation, including P&IDs, electrical schematics, and functional design specifications.
• Providing remote technical support and troubleshooting for installed automation systems.
• Collaborating with clients, project managers, and other engineers to define project scope and requirements.
• Conducting system commissioning and startup procedures remotely or on‑site as required.
• Staying current with the latest advancements in industrial automation technologies and best practices.
• Developing and implementing strategies for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
• Mentoring junior engineers and providing technical guidance.
• Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in industrial automation and control systems engineering.
• Proven expertise in PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text, etc.) and HMI/SCADA development.
• Strong understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus).
• Experience with various automation hardware and software platforms.
• Excellent problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to manage projects effectively and work independently in a remote setting.
• Strong communication and client‑facing skills.
• Experience with robotics and motion control is a significant plus.
