Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Industrial Engineer to join their innovative team on a fully remote basis. While based conceptually in Kimberley, Northern Cape, ZA, this role requires no physical presence at any specific company location.
As a Senior Industrial Engineer, you will be tasked with analyzing complex operational challenges, developing and implementing solutions to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall system performance. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, utilizing your deep understanding of engineering principles, statistical analysis, and lean methodologies. Your contributions will directly impact the efficiency and profitability of our client's operations through thoughtful and data-driven engineering solutions.
Responsibilities
- Analyzing existing production processes and workflows to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
- Designing, developing, and implementing new or improved manufacturing and operational systems.
- Utilizing simulation, modeling, and data analysis tools to evaluate process changes and predict outcomes.
- Developing and applying lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve quality.
- Creating detailed process documentation, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
- Collaborating with design, production, and quality control teams to ensure seamless integration of engineered solutions.
- Leading and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
- Managing projects from conception through implementation, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conducting feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for proposed improvements.
- Staying abreast of the latest advancements in industrial engineering and manufacturing technologies.
- Providing technical expertise and support to various departments remotely.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- A Master's degree is a significant advantage.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a strong track record in process improvement, operations management, or system design.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and simulation software is essential.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills are required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for effective remote collaboration.
