Our client, a global leader in supply chain optimization and logistics, is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Industrial Engineering Manager to lead their engineering team in Mississauga, Ontario, CA . This role is essential for driving efficiency, productivity, and cost-effectiveness across our client's extensive operational network.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial engineering principles, process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma), and operations management. You will be responsible for overseeing complex engineering projects, developing innovative solutions for operational challenges, and managing a team of highly skilled industrial engineers. This hybrid role offers a blend of on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of industrial engineers, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance management. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to optimize operational efficiency, workflow, and resource allocation. Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to identify and eliminate waste, improve quality, and reduce costs. Design, analyze, and improve material handling systems, warehouse layouts, and distribution processes. Conduct feasibility studies, cost-benefit analyses, and ROI calculations for proposed engineering projects. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance and drive continuous improvement. Collaborate with cross-functional departments, including operations, IT, and finance, to align engineering efforts with business objectives. Oversee the implementation of new technologies and automation solutions within operational facilities. Create and present detailed engineering reports, project proposals, and performance reviews to senior leadership. Ensure all engineering designs and solutions comply with safety standards and regulatory requirements. Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions in industrial engineering and supply chain management. Manage external consultants and vendors as required for specific projects. Qualifications: Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience will also be considered. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with at least 3 years in a management or leadership role. Proven expertise in Lean, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification strongly preferred), and other continuous improvement methodologies. Strong understanding of supply chain, logistics, and warehouse operations. Proficiency in simulation software (e.g., Arena, AnyLogic) and data analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, Excel). Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and developing engineering teams. Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Experience with project management methodologies and tools. Familiarity with automation technologies and their application in operations. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
