About the role
Our client is actively seeking a Senior Industrial Process Engineer with expertise in supply chain optimization to join their entirely remote team. This role is crucial for enhancing operational efficiency across our client's diverse network. You will be instrumental in analyzing, redesigning, and implementing improved processes within manufacturing and logistics, with a significant focus on streamlining supply chain operations, reducing lead times, and minimizing costs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, a deep understanding of industrial engineering principles, and a proven ability to drive significant operational improvements from a distance.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex industrial processes and supply chain networks to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
- Design and implement optimized workflows and procedures for manufacturing, warehousing, and logistics.
- Develop and utilize advanced modeling and simulation tools to test process improvements and forecast outcomes.
- Apply lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce waste and enhance quality throughout the supply chain.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and distribution, to integrate process improvements seamlessly.
- Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of supply chain and process initiatives.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, present findings, and propose strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Oversee the implementation of new processes and technologies, ensuring successful adoption and integration.
- Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and innovative approaches to supply chain management and industrial engineering.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on process analysis and optimization techniques.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Manage project timelines and resources effectively for process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial engineering, with a significant focus on supply chain and logistics optimization.
- Proven expertise in process analysis, workflow design, and lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to work with large datasets and complex systems.
- Proficiency in process simulation software, statistical analysis tools, and project management software.
- Excellent understanding of inventory management, demand planning, and network design principles.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, essential for remote collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive projects to completion in a fully remote environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and implementing significant operational improvements.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and Supply Chain Management (SCM) software.
- Professional Engineer (PE) or relevant certification is a plus.
