Senior IT Project Manager – System Migration - Public Sector

Our client is a large public sector organisation in Berlin responsible for national-scale digital infrastructure. Stable environment, interesting work, strong end client for your CV.

They need a Senior IT Project Manager to lead a company-wide HR system migration end-to-end. This is a delivery role, project governance, stakeholder management, data migration, interfaces and go-live. You do not need prior knowledge of the target HR platform; what matters is that you've run migrations of this complexity before and know how to land them.

Responsibilities

• Own the project plan, milestones and overall delivery
• Coordinate IT, business units and external service providers across all workstreams
• Manage data migration, interfaces, dependencies and sub-project alignment
• Identify and resolve risks and blockers across organisational boundaries
• Plan and manage test phases, cutover and go-live
• Maintain stakeholder communication and project documentation throughout
• Support change management and user readiness ahead of go-live

Requirements

• Several years of IT project management experience in migration or transformation projects
• Direct experience managing data migration, interface management, test phases and go-live
• Solid knowledge of classic and/or agile PM methods
• Confident managing stakeholders across both IT and business functions
• Experience supporting teams through system transitions
• C1+ German required; English a plus

Package

• Up to €115,000 p.a.
• Berlin — 2 days on-site per week
• 18-month AUG contract
• Start from 11 May 2026
