About the role
Our client, a leading financial institution, is seeking a highly analytical and driven Senior Investment Analyst to join their dynamic team. This role is instrumental in driving investment strategy, portfolio management, and market analysis. The ideal candidate will possess a strong quantitative background, a deep understanding of financial markets, and proven experience in evaluating investment opportunities. You will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial modeling, conducting due diligence on potential investments, and providing strategic recommendations to portfolio managers and senior leadership. This is an office-based role requiring your presence in **Lokoja, Kogi, NG**, to facilitate close collaboration with the investment committee and trading desks.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough financial analysis and modeling of public and private companies. Evaluate investment opportunities across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments. Develop and maintain detailed financial models, valuation analyses, and investment reports. Perform due diligence on potential investments, assessing financial health, market position, and management quality. Monitor economic trends, industry developments, and market conditions to identify investment risks and opportunities. Provide strategic investment recommendations and articulate the rationale behind them to the investment committee. Manage and monitor existing portfolio investments, ensuring alignment with investment objectives. Collaborate with portfolio managers and traders to execute investment strategies. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and their potential impact on investments. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of the investment team. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree or CFA charter is highly desirable. Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment analysis, portfolio management, or a related financial role. Proven experience in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and investment research. Strong understanding of capital markets, financial instruments, and economic principles. Excellent analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in financial data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv) and statistical software. Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
