About the role
Our client, a leading and reputable bank with a strong presence in the financial sector, is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Investment Analyst to join their Investment Banking division in **Ilorin, Kwara, NG**. This critical role involves conducting in-depth financial analysis, developing investment strategies, and providing expert recommendations to support client portfolios and firm-wide investment decisions. The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of financial markets, corporate finance, and various investment vehicles.
Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of companies, industries, and market trends to identify investment opportunities. Develop and model complex financial projections, valuation models (DCF, comparable analysis, precedent transactions), and sensitivity analyses. Prepare detailed investment research reports, memos, and presentations for senior management, investment committees, and clients. Monitor and evaluate the performance of existing investments, providing regular updates and recommendations for portfolio adjustments. Conduct due diligence on potential investment targets, assessing financial health, market position, and risks. Collaborate with relationship managers and client advisors to understand client needs and tailor investment strategies accordingly. Stay informed about economic conditions, regulatory changes, and geopolitical events that may impact financial markets and investment strategies. Assist in the structuring and execution of various financial transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising activities. Develop and maintain relationships with industry contacts, research analysts, and other market participants. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies governing investment activities. Mentor and guide junior analysts, contributing to their professional development. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field. A Master's degree (MBA, MSc Finance) is highly preferred. Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in investment analysis, corporate finance, equity research, or a related financial advisory role. Strong understanding of financial accounting principles, corporate finance, and investment valuation methodologies. Demonstrated proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis using Excel and other relevant software. Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Proficiency in financial databases and tools such as Bloomberg Terminal, Refinitiv Eikon, FactSet, or similar. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial information clearly and concisely. Professional certifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or its candidacy are highly desirable. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple priorities. High ethical standards and a strong sense of professional integrity. This is a demanding, on-site role requiring deep engagement with financial data and team collaboration.
