Our client, a prestigious financial institution, is seeking a highly analytical and driven Senior Investment Banking Analyst to join their dynamic team in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, ZA. This role is integral to supporting the firm's M&A advisory, capital raising, and corporate finance activities. Responsibilities
- Develop complex financial models, including discounted cash flow (DCF), leveraged buyout (LBO), merger models, and comparable company analyses.
- Conduct in-depth industry research and market analysis to identify investment opportunities and assess potential risks.
- Prepare detailed client presentations, pitch books, and marketing materials for M&A transactions, IPOs, and other corporate finance assignments.
- Assist in the execution of transactions, including due diligence, deal structuring, and negotiation support.
- Perform valuation analyses using various methodologies to determine the intrinsic value of companies.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, providing strategic financial advice.
- Monitor economic trends and capital markets to identify opportunities and risks relevant to client needs.
- Collaborate effectively with senior bankers, clients, legal counsel, and other advisors.
- Support the origination of new business by identifying potential clients and developing targeted outreach strategies.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of all financial analyses and client deliverables.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
- An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or a related field.
- Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and quantitative analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly.
- High degree of intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Prior experience in the South African market or emerging markets is advantageous.
