About the role
Our client, a prestigious financial institution, is seeking a highly analytical and driven Senior Investment Banking Analyst to join their growing team in Minna, Niger, NG . This role is integral to providing sophisticated financial advisory services to corporations, governments, and financial sponsors. You will be involved in a wide range of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), capital raising (debt and equity), and corporate restructuring. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in finance, exceptional quantitative skills, and a meticulous approach to financial modeling and valuation. This is a hybrid position, requiring significant time in the office for client meetings, deal execution, and team collaboration, with flexibility for remote work on specific analytical tasks and research.
Responsibilities: Develop complex financial models for valuation, forecasting, and transaction analysis (M&A, LBO, DCF, comparable company analysis, precedent transactions). Prepare detailed pitch books, presentations, and marketing materials for client engagements. Conduct comprehensive industry research and company-specific analysis to identify strategic opportunities. Support senior bankers in managing client relationships and executing transactions. Assist in the due diligence process for M&A and capital raising transactions. Perform market analysis and identify potential investors or buyers. Monitor economic and market trends, assessing their impact on clients and potential deals. Coordinate with legal counsel, auditors, and other advisors throughout transaction processes. Assist in the origination of new business opportunities. Develop a deep understanding of various industry sectors and capital markets. Ensure all work is accurate, thorough, and completed within tight deadlines. Mentor and train junior analysts and interns. Contribute to the firm's internal knowledge base and best practices. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry contacts. Stay abreast of regulatory changes and market developments impacting investment banking. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related quantitative field. MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a significant plus. Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or financial advisory. Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, macros) and PowerPoint. Strong understanding of corporate finance principles, capital markets, and transaction structures. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts clearly. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and diligence. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively. Demonstrated interest in financial markets and corporate strategy. Experience with financial databases such as Bloomberg, Refinitiv Eikon, or Capital IQ is preferred. Ability to manage workload effectively in a hybrid setting. This role requires significant on-site presence for critical activities at our offices in Minna, Niger, NG , with hybrid flexibility for supporting tasks.
