The Role

We are looking for a Senior iOS Developer who has built and shipped consumer products that people actually use.

This is a hands-on role. You will write code, ship features, and own outcomes.

You will work directly with the CTO and product team to shape the core experience. Not just how it works, but how it feels.

If you care about performance, speed, and building something people use daily, this will suit you.

If you are looking for structure, hand-holding, or a slow environment, this will not.

What You Will Own

Core iOS Experience • End-to-end ownership of the iOS (SwiftUI) app • Shipping features from zero to production • Making decisions that prioritise speed without compromising quality

Performance & Reliability • App responsiveness, load time, and smoothness • Crash reduction and stability • Efficient use of memory, network, and device resources

Audio & Feed System • Seamless audio playback • Low latency, minimal buffering • Fast, intuitive feed interactions • A product that feels instant

Product Collaboration • Working directly with CTO, product, and design • Turning ideas into shipped features quickly • Contributing to product decisions, not just execution

Speed & Iteration • Shipping fast and often • Running tight feedback loops • Improving continuously based on real usage

What Success Looks Like

Within 30 days • You are shipping consistently, fixing obvious issues, and making the app noticeably better. • You understand the core flows and are already contributing to product decisions.

Within 90 days • You own a critical surface like feed, playback, or engagement. • The app is faster, smoother, and more stable because of your work. • Release cycles are quicker and more reliable.

Within 6 months • You own the iOS experience end-to-end. • The app is fast, stable, and built for rapid iteration. • Your work directly shapes how users experience Speed Radio.

Requirements • 6–9 years experience in iOS development • Strong experience in native iOS (Swift) • Experience building consumer mobile products • Strong understanding of performance optimisation • Experience working closely with product teams • Comfortable in early-stage environments • Bias toward building and shipping

Nice to Have • Experience with social or content platforms • Experience with audio streaming (AVFoundation or similar) • Experience with feed-based or algorithmic products • Exposure to analytics and experimentation

What This Is NOT • This is not a role where you wait for detailed specs. • This is not a role where you only work on tickets. • This is not a role where someone else owns product decisions. • This is not a role for engineers who avoid ambiguity.
