Senior IT Business Analyst (Banking Area)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior IT Business Analyst (Banking Area) to join our team in Lugano. The ideal candidate combines deep functional analysis expertise with advanced SQL skills, and acts as a trusted bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and manage end-to-end and functional analysis, from requirements gathering to solution design and validation
• Act as a key point of contact for business stakeholders, ensuring alignment between business needs and IT delivery
• Take a proactive role in planning, coordinating, and driving project activities, ensuring timelines, scope, and quality objectives are met
• Manage UAT activities, define test strategies, plan and execute User Acceptance Testing, and sign off on quality outcomes
• Take end-to-end ownership of complex functional incidents in close collaboration with business stakeholders
• Leverage strong SQL expertise to query, manipulate, and extract data, and to interpret complex database structures in support of business needs

Must-have Skills

• Proven experience of at least 6+ years in an IT Business Analyst role within banking or financial services environments
• Strong experience in coordinating project activities and working in delivery-focused environments
• Solid hands-on experience with SQL, enabling advanced querying, data analysis, and effective interpretation of database structure
• Demonstrated capability in business and functional analysis within complex environments, coupled with the ability to design and model IT solutions
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities independently while remaining strongly focused on results
• Fluent in Italian and English
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline

Location Requirement

• This position is fully office-based, requiring a 5-day-per-week on-site commitment
• Candidates should be prepared to relocate to Canton Ticino/Switzerland, or be willing to commute from nearby Italian border towns
