Senior IT Project Manager - Digital Transformation

Our client, a rapidly growing enterprise in the financial services sector, is seeking an accomplished Senior IT Project Manager to lead strategic digital transformation initiatives from their Centurion, Gauteng, ZA office. Key Responsibilities: Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business strategies in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders in Centurion, Gauteng, ZA . Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and risk management strategies. Manage and mentor project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Oversee the execution of IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Implement and manage agile project management methodologies, adapting as necessary to project needs. Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders, including technical teams, business units, vendors, and executive leadership. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues proactively. Manage vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring successful delivery of outsourced components. Track project progress and performance, reporting regularly to stakeholders on key metrics and milestones. Ensure adherence to IT governance, security policies, and compliance requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management office and project delivery processes. Lead post-project evaluations, identifying lessons learned and areas for future improvement. Champion the adoption of new technologies and digital solutions across the organization. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT project management, with a significant portion focused on digital transformation and system implementation projects. Proven experience managing projects with budgets exceeding R10 million. Strong understanding of various project management methodologies, including Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, or similar large-scale software implementations. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification is essential. Familiarity with IT infrastructure, software development lifecycles, and cybersecurity principles. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Experience working in the financial services industry is a strong advantage.
