Position Overview

JEDA is seeking a Sr. IT Project Manager II with extensive on-site data center experience to lead complex infrastructure deployments and field service operations. This is a hands‑on technical project leadership role requiring deep familiarity with data center environments, hardware deployments, and smart hands operations.

The ideal candidate has direct experience working in data centers, overseeing rack‑and‑stack deployments, structured cabling, hardware installations, and facility upgrades, while maintaining full ownership of project schedules, budgets, and execution.

Due to the nature of our projects, this role requires up to 80% travel annually to customer sites and data center facilities across the United States. This will be outside your home location.

Key Responsibilities

Data Center & Technical Project Leadership

  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of data center infrastructure and field service projects, including:
    • Data center deployments, migrations, and expansions
    • Rack‑and‑stack installations for servers, network equipment, and storage
    • Structured cabling and fiber deployments
    • Hardware refreshes and infrastructure upgrades
    • Smart Hands and on‑site technical support engagements
  • Develop and manage technical project plans, schedules, milestones, and resources
  • Review and validate technical scopes of work and implementation plans
  • Coordinate on‑site deployment activities within data center environments
  • Ensure adherence to data center safety standards, security protocols, and industry best practices

Operations & Vendor Management

  • Coordinate internal engineers, field technicians, and subcontractors across multiple sites
  • Provide technical oversight and escalation support during deployments
  • Manage vendors and third‑party service providers performing data center work
  • Track project risks, dependencies, change requests, and issue resolution
  • Ensure projects remain on schedule and within scope

Financial & Administrative Oversight

  • Manage project budgets, labor tracking, and cost controls
  • Assist with AP/AR processes related to project billing, invoices, and purchase orders
  • Ensure accurate documentation of project costs, deliverables, and project closeout

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Provide clear technical and executive‑level project status reports
  • Identify opportunities to improve data center deployment processes and field service operations
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across infrastructure and technical service delivery

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of IT Project Management experience in data center or infrastructure environments
  • Direct hands‑on experience working in data centers (required)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Data center operations and best practices
    • Rack‑and‑stack hardware deployments
    • Structured cabling and fiber installations
    • Network infrastructure (switching, routing, and patching)
    • Enterprise servers and storage platforms
  • Experience managing technical field teams and subcontractors
  • Ability to manage multiple infrastructure deployments simultaneously
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 80% per calendar year
