We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager* System Migration & Transformation for our Berlin location, starting immediately.

The role includes the company-wide migration from an existing HR system to Personio, but it is a classic project management role in IT migration – not a position as an HR system specialist.

The focus is on structured project execution: system migration, data migration, interfaces, go-live, and change management.

Your Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the migration project – planning, implementation and monitoring; creation and maintenance of a solid project plan including all milestones.
  • Coordination and management of service providers, specialist departments, IT and all involved parties; interface between technical and business stakeholders.
  • Management of project dependencies, including interfaces, data flows and sub-projects; ensuring coordination across all workflows.
  • Proactive risk management and escalation control; early identification of obstacles and their resolution across organizational boundaries.
  • Planning and management of test phases including involvement of specialist departments; organization and control of the cutover and go-live process for a stable migration.
  • Ensuring transparent communication and structured reporting to all stakeholders; maintenance of clear project documentation.
  • Support of change management – communication strategies and empowerment of employees during the transition to the new system.

Your Profile

  • Several years of experience in IT project management, ideally in complex migration and transformation projects; demonstrable track record in carrying out extensive IT projects.
  • Experience with data migration, interface management, test procedures and go-live phases; practical experience with comparable system migrations or replacements.
  • Sound knowledge of classic and/or agile project management methods and their situational application.
  • Strong communication and moderation skills at various organizational levels; ability to effectively balance the different interests of IT and business.
  • Knowledge of change management approaches for organizational and technological changes; experience in supporting users through system transitions.
  • High discipline in planning, documentation and follow-up; high resilience in critical project phases – confident handling of uncertainty, resistance and time pressure.
  • Fluent German and very good English skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with HR management systems or especially with Personio is an advantage, but not required if there is sound knowledge in leading migration projects.
  • Good understanding of process or management systems (e.g. PMS or comparable solutions).
