About
As a Senior IT Security Engineer (m/f/d), you will take on a central professional role in the IT Security Team. You will be responsible for technical security concepts, play a significant role in architectural decisions, and serve as the technical point of contact for IT operations, IT engineering, and security governance.
Work location is Saarbrücken or optionally Munich.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility for operation, further development & quality assurance of central security systems (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS, Vulnerability Management)
- Analysis of security incidents, development and optimization of detection & response concepts
- Shaping the security roadmap and further development of the deployed security tools
- Definition and evaluation of security requirements for IT infrastructures (servers, network, virtualization, containers) in close coordination with the responsible teams
- Collaboration with IT engineering and operations for the implementation of secure operating and architectural concepts
- Derivation of minimum standards, hardening specifications, and consulting IT teams on security-relevant configurations and changes
- Technical support for audits as well as translation of regulatory requirements into concrete measures and support for risk analyses
Profile
- Education or studies in the IT field or comparable practical experience
- Several years of experience in IT security, infrastructure, or platform operations environments
- In-depth knowledge in central infrastructure and security areas such as operating systems (Windows/Linux), network and communication security, and security monitoring & detection (SIEM, EDR/XDR, IDS/IPS)
- Experience with modern platforms and technologies (e.g., containers, virtualization) and in hardening systems and infrastructures
- Ability to derive and implement technical security requirements, standards, and hardening specifications
- Knowledge of relevant security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, BSI-Grundschutz, PCI DSS)
- Experience in automation, scripting, or integration of security solutions (e.g., APIs, SOAR) is an advantage
- Fluent German language skills, both written and spoken (min. C1 level)
- Analytical and structured way of working
- High degree of personal responsibility as well as strong communication and teamwork skills, including mentoring
- Willingness to participate in on-call duty and business trips to a small extent
- As we work with very sensitive data, we require a clear simple police clearance certificate and a signed internal declaration that your financial circumstances are in order (e.g., no private insolvency or wage garnishment) at the start of employment.
