About the role

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborate with development teams to craft and execute critical functionalities and proofs of concept (POCs).
  • Engage with clients to devise innovative strategies and frameworks.
  • Architect and design robust application solutions.
  • Guide and mentor developers, providing hands-on support when needed.
  • Translate business requirements into dynamic software components, ensuring thorough documentation and diagramming of application functionality.

Technical Architect Responsibilities (~25%)

  • Be accountable for the comprehensive platform architecture spanning ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, SPM, CMDB, and App Engine.
  • Establish and uphold technical standards, design patterns, and architectural frameworks.
  • Convert business needs and ITSM/ITIL requirements into scalable ServiceNow solution architectures.
  • Review and validate solution designs, data models, integrations, and custom application frameworks.
  • Act as the definitive technical escalation point for intricate platform decisions.
  • Assess new ServiceNow features and advocate for their adoption based on platform health and strategic roadmap.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build architecture strategies and execution frameworks.
  • Produce and maintain architecture diagrams, design documents, and technical artifacts.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to fellow developers.

Lead Developer Responsibilities (~75%)

  • Conduct hands-on JavaScript development, including Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Flow Designer logic.
  • Oversee the development of complex or high-risk components.
  • Create and maintain custom applications using the ServiceNow App Engine.
  • Review and optimize developer code for architectural compliance and performance enhancement.
  • Support POCs, upgrade remediation, and resolution of complex defects.

Program-Specific Responsibilities

  • Spearhead requirements analysis and gap assessments for large enterprise implementations.
  • Design deployment frameworks that align with ITSM and ITIL standards.
  • Offer architectural oversight for integrations and data management.
  • Ensure preparedness for upgrades through comprehensive regression plans and technical validations.
  • Maintain technical documentation that meets audit requirements.
  • Promote SDLC governance and ongoing improvement across the platform.

Required Experience

  • 7+ years of enterprise IT experience.
  • 2+ years of extensive leadership in ServiceNow architecture and implementations.
  • Demonstrated success in managing large-scale ServiceNow projects and upgrades.
  • Expertise in ITOM, ITAM, SPM, GRC, and CMDB.
  • Strong proficiency in both server-side and client-side JavaScript.

Required Certifications

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA).
  • One or more ServiceNow Implementation Specialist certifications.

Additional Requirements

  • A High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • U.S. residency and citizenship are required.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.
  • Must not be in default on federal student loans.
  • Employment relies on achieving and maintaining a favorable clearance through the Department of Education/Federal Student Aid.
  • Obtaining and maintaining a PIV-I card is necessary for this position; physical pickup is required.

Home Office Requirements

  • Reliable hardwired internet connection (Ethernet).
  • Minimum internet download speed of 25mbps (testable on any internet speed test site).
  • A designated private workspace with adequate power supply.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 7-10 years of pertinent professional experience.
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may qualify in lieu of a degree.
