Senior Java Backend Developer (w/m/d)

Job Description

• You actively work in an agile Scrum development team and take responsibility for backend microservices throughout the entire software development lifecycle.
• Development of backend services and APIs (Java/Kotlin) and co-design of a sustainable, scalable software architecture.
• Active establishment of development standards, coding guidelines, and best practices within and across teams.
• Ensuring software quality through consistent automated testing.
• Active use of provided CI/CD pipelines and GitOps processes.
• Ensuring security and compliance in code, with a shift-left approach as a natural part of development.
• Close collaboration with the DevOps team and active participation in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous knowledge transfer within the team.

Requirements

• Completed technical education (HTL, FH, University) with a focus on software development or comparable practical experience.
• Sound knowledge in Java and/or Kotlin, Spring Boot, SQL, and REST API design, and experience in developing productive backend systems.
• Good understanding of modern microservice architectures and sustainable software design principles (e.g., Domain-Driven Design, Clean Architecture, Design Patterns).
• Experience with automated testing strategies and frameworks.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps processes, and understanding their role in the modern software development lifecycle.
• Basic understanding of container and Kubernetes environments as a target platform for own services.
• You are a team player with a high quality standard, enjoy code reviews, technical discussions and knowledge transfer, and have the desire to build sustainable software.
• Very good German and good English skills.
