Senior Java Solutions Architect

Role Overview

The State of Michigan is seeking an experienced Software Solutions Architect with deep expertise in Java and enterprise application architecture to design and deliver scalable, secure, and high-performance systems.

Required Skills & Experience

• 12+ years of professional experience in software/application development, with strong expertise in Java and enterprise-level systems
• 5+ years of experience in application architecture, designing large-scale, mission-critical solutions
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in:
  • Microservices architecture
  • Containerization (Docker)
  • Container orchestration (OpenShift / Kubernetes)
• Strong experience in:
  • Multi-tier application design
  • Distributed systems
  • High-availability architectures
• Deep understanding of:
  • REST APIs
  • Service integration patterns
  • CI/CD pipelines
  • Secure application design
• Proven expertise in modern security and authentication frameworks:
  • OAuth 2.0
  • SAML
  • OpenID Connect
  • JSON Web Tokens (JWT)
• Hands-on experience implementing secure and scalable IAM solutions across distributed systems

Important Notes

• Candidates must be local to Michigan (MI)
• Valid Driver’s License (DL) is required (except for Native USC)
• Open to Any Visa
• 12+ years of experience required
• Must be available for in-person interviews (tentatively on May 11th / May 12th, 2026)
• Resource must be onsite from Day 1 (2–5 days/week based on manager discretion)
