Your Responsibilities

As a Kubernetes Architect for On-Premises Infrastructure, you are the technical visionary and doer for private cloud solutions:

• End-to-end responsibility for the design and smooth operation of container platforms as well as conception and further development of highly available, scalable, and secure Kubernetes clusters in an on-premises environment
• Selection, evaluation, and integration of CNCF technologies for the local data center
• Design of complex container networks as well as implementation of Zero Trust concepts, Network Policies, and Pod Security Standards
• Establishment of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform/Ansible and GitOps workflows for fully automated deployment of clusters and workloads
• Conception of monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions as well as definition and monitoring of SLOs/SLIs
• Technical consulting for development teams during the migration of applications to the on-premises cloud as well as professional leadership and coaching

Your Profile

• Several years of in-depth experience as a Cloud Architect, Platform Engineer, or Senior DevOps Engineer, ideally with a focus on building data center or on-premises infrastructures, with profound practical experience beyond managed cloud services
• Excellent knowledge of Kubernetes architecture (Control Plane, etcd, Kubelet). Certifications like CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) or CKS (Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist) are a big plus
• Deep understanding of Linux operating systems, virtualization, and ideally bare-metal provisioning
• Very good knowledge of traditional and containerized network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, BGP, VXLAN) as well as experience with block- and file-based on-premises storage
• Confident handling of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI, GitHub Actions), IaC (Terraform, Ansible), and container runtimes (containerd, CRI-O)
• Analytical thinking, strong problem-solving skills for complex infrastructure incidents, and strong communication skills
