Senior Lead Project Manager, IT Infrastructure

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Lead Project Manager to oversee critical IT infrastructure projects in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, NG . This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of managing complex, large-scale technology deployments, including network upgrades, data center migrations, cloud implementations, and cybersecurity initiatives. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of multiple simultaneous projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget, while adhering to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will excel at defining project objectives, scope, and deliverables, developing detailed project plans, and managing resources effectively. Strong leadership is crucial as you will guide project teams, consisting of internal IT staff, external vendors, and consultants, fostering collaboration and ensuring clear communication channels. Stakeholder management is paramount; you will engage with senior executives, department heads, and technical teams to provide regular project updates, manage expectations, and resolve conflicts. This hybrid position demands flexibility, with significant time spent on-site coordinating technical teams and overseeing critical infrastructure work, balanced with remote work for planning, reporting, and strategic initiatives. You will be proficient in various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and possess a strong understanding of ITIL best practices. Experience in risk assessment and mitigation, change management, and vendor contract negotiation is essential. The ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project plans and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences is a key requirement. Responsibilities: Lead and manage complex IT infrastructure projects from initiation to closure. Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria. Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget. Manage project teams, including internal staff, vendors, and contractors. Oversee budget management, forecasting, and cost control for projects. Implement and manage project risks, issues, and change control processes. Ensure adherence to project management best practices and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall). Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders at all levels. Manage vendor relationships and contract negotiations for IT services and equipment. Ensure projects comply with IT security policies and regulatory requirements. Facilitate collaboration between technical teams and business units. Conduct post-project reviews and document lessons learned. Drive continuous improvement in project management processes. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to project team members. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in IT project management, with a strong focus on infrastructure. Proven track record of successfully delivering large-scale IT infrastructure projects. Expertise in various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid). Strong understanding of networking, servers, storage, cloud computing (AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Experience with ITIL framework and service management. PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certification is highly desirable. Experience managing multi-million dollar project budgets. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
