A Reserve situated between Cape Town and Knysna is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and self-sufficient Senior Management Couple to lead their team. The ideal candidates are a proactive, outgoing duo who thrive on guest engagement and operational excellence. They must have a proven track record in 5-star luxury properties, the ability to work independently, and a hands-on approach to management.

REQUIREMENTS:

General Requirements (Both Candidates)

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in 5-star properties (lodges, hotels, or safari camps)
  • Transport: Own reliable transport
  • Licensing: Valid driver’s licence (essential for both)
  • Management: Strong team management and time management skills
  • Mindset: Creative, out-of-the-box thinking with the ability to think on their feet
  • Autonomy: Able to work independently without supervision
  • Personality: Outgoing, confident, with strong guest engagement and hosting skills
  • Language: Fluent in English (spoken and written)
  • Other: No children allowed on site

Position-Specific Requirements

Him – Lodge Manager / Head Guide

Essential Qualifications & Certifications:

  • FGASA Level 1 Marine (or Level 1 with Marine to be completed within 6 months of employment)
  • All guiding qualifications must be up to date and valid
  • First Aid Level 1
  • Valid PDP (Professional Driving Permit)

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong maintenance and vehicle maintenance skills
  • Excellent hosting skills (dinners, bush banqueting, guest entertainment)
  • Basic HR knowledge (disciplinary procedures, staff rostering, performance management)
  • Ability to lead guided activities and ensure guest safety at all times

Her – Assistant Lodge Manager / Host & Administrator

Essential Requirements:

  • PAN (Property Administrator Network) knowledge – essential
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Computer literacy (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Basic HR knowledge (recruitment, employee files, leave administration)
  • Strong hosting skills (check-ins, dining, guest relations)

Advantageous:

  • All-rounder knowledge across all lodge departments (Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance, Guiding)
  • Valid driver’s licence
