Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering Manager

Our partner is a global enterprise (15,000+ employees) undergoing a full-scale multi-year cloud transformation consolidating legacy data centers, VMware environments, and multi-cloud systems into a modern, AWS-first platform.

They are hiring a Senior Cloud and Infrastructure Engineering Manager to take end-to-end ownership of this transformation – developing project roadmaps, setting strategy and governance standards, building and managing internal teams and 3rd party vendors, driving execution across architecture, migration, and platform engineering.

This is a highly visible role with executive exposure, offering the opportunity to own, define, and drive the long-term cloud strategy of a global enterprise while building and optimizing a scalable and secure Cloud infrastructure.

What You’ll Own

• Build, lead, and mentor a team of cloud, infrastructure, and server engineers
• Own and define the enterprise cloud strategy, roadmap, and execution plan
• Lead the transition to an AWS-first platform across a complex, hybrid environment
• Drive large scale migration and modernization initiatives (rehost, replatform, refactor)
• Partner with executive leadership to align cloud initiatives with business priorities
• Establish long term vision for infrastructure and cloud operations
• Establish team structure, hiring strategy, and talent development plans
• Provide technical guidance while empowering senior engineers to execute
• Act as a key leader across engineering, infrastructure, and SRE functions
• Guide implementation of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and CI/CD practices
• Ensure best practices in scalability, reliability, and performance
• Partner with application, DevOps, security, and business teams to drive adoption
• Influence and align stakeholders across multiple business units and geographies
• Manage vendor relationships (cloud providers, tooling, infrastructure partners)
• Governance, Security & Cost Optimization
• Establish cloud governance, security standards, and compliance frameworks (NIST/CIS)
• Ensure implementation of security best practices (IAM, encryption, zero-trust)
• Reduce complexity across on-prem, VMware, Azure, and AWS environments

What You Bring

• 10+ years in cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering
• 5+ years leading teams in enterprise-scale environments
• Proven experience owning and driving large-scale cloud transformation programs (AWS)
• Strong leadership presence with the ability to influence at the executive level
• Deep expertise in AWS and cloud architecture (hands-on foundation required)
• Experience building and scaling DevOps and platform engineering practices
• Expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)
• Strong understanding of hybrid environments and migration strategies
• Experience with cloud governance, security, and cost management
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with technical depth
