About the Position
- We are searching for a permanent Senior Manager, Data Platforms and Engineering to join our Information and Technology Services team.
- The starting salary will be determined based on a combination of skills, education, and experience. The salary range is $130,000 – $150,000 per year.

Key Ways This Position Makes An Impact
The Senior Manager, Data Platforms and Engineering will collaborate closely with the Director, Data and Insights to ensure alignment with enterprise data strategy, governance, and organizational priorities.
In this role, you will lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, training, and performance management while determining appropriate staffing levels, hiring, promotion, and, where required, disciplinary decisions in accordance with Human Resources policies and employment legislation.
The manager owns the data platform architecture, lifecycle, and operational management of enterprise data platforms, ensuring they are scalable, reliable, and aligned with business needs.
You will lead the design and development of data pipelines, data services, and cloud-native processing frameworks to support analytics and operational workloads.
In this role, you will oversee enterprise data orchestration, integration frameworks, and automated workflows to support data movement and transformation.
You will define and maintain enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
In this role, you will develop and implement enterprise‑wide strategies, frameworks, and operating models for managing data as a strategic asset, including lifecycle management, semantic layer modernization, and standardized data product development.
Key Experiences You Bring To This Role
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Critical: Deep hands-on experience operating in cloud data ecosystems (Azure and/or AWS), including cloud-native data engineering, cost optimization, and platform governance and experience working in healthcare, or regulated sectors, with demonstrated understanding of data privacy, PHI/PII handling, and compliance frameworks relevant to health services.
- Excellent understanding of data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, APIs, and orchestration tools.
- Exceptional knowledge of cloud data architectures, distributed computing, real‑time and batch processing patterns, and data platform operations.
- 8–10 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms, or enterprise data architecture, including:
- Designing and managing cloud-native processing and integration frameworks
- Building and operating modern data platforms in Azure and/or AWS
- Implementing enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks
- 5+ years of management experience leading highly technical teams.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling (conceptual, logical, physical).
- Strong familiarity with regulatory compliance (PIPA, PHIPA, HIPAA-equivalent, SOC2, etc.).
- Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable, secure, and high‑performing data solutions.
It’s preferred and considered an asset if you have:
- Relevant certifications (Azure/AWS, GCP Data Engineer, Snowflake)
- Experience with event-driven architectures, streaming frameworks, or ML Ops tooling
