Would you like to reform Amazon's inbound supply chain together? Amazon is undertaking various initiatives from both logistics network and technology perspectives to dramatically improve the customer purchasing experience. In particular, to enhance faster delivery speed and convenience, the strategy formulation and execution for optimal inventory placement, which is how to place inventory close to customers, is key to success. Currently, reforming inbound logistics is a company-wide priority to achieve optimal inventory placement.
This time, the Inbound Network Planning team is seeking a leader to reform the inbound supply chain for optimal inventory placement, building good relationships with Amazon's partner companies, vendors, and sellers, and reforming the End-to-End supply chain. This position will not only reform Amazon's internal network but also delve into the operations and delivery networks of vendors and sellers, thinking and implementing solutions collaboratively. In addition, the creation of business metrics, monitoring of operational status and results, proposal of improvements, and pursuit of cost reduction opportunities are also required. A deep understanding of business and operations, the ability to link data and operations to build hypotheses, and strong communication skills with stakeholders are highly required.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Plan projects to streamline inbound to fulfillment centers nationwide, including system implementation and new business launch project management.
- Examine the feasibility of new business cases requested by the business team from cost and operational perspectives, and implement them.
- Undertake system reorganization and modification initiatives for network changes and operational efficiency improvements during warehouse/sort center relocation/expansion.
- Plan and execute new business initiatives through communication with various stakeholders.
- Define issues in existing business processes, analyze causes, and lead improvements.
- Promote product introduction for new business introduction while ensuring compatibility with existing processes and systems.
- Collect data from internal systems/tools, create metrics, measure business performance, and determine actions for improvement.
- Lead multiple projects concurrently and execute them with ownership.
- Create business documents in English/Japanese and share issues/ideas with relevant stakeholders to obtain approval.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of program or project management experience.
- 3+ years of stakeholder management experience in cross-functional projects.
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel (PivotTables, Charts, Multiple Condition Lookups, Nested IF statements, Data Cleaning, Array Formulas, etc.).
- Business communication skills in English (oral and written).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in program strategy, last-mile delivery management, and reporting results to senior leadership.
- Ability to speak, write, and read Japanese at a business level or higher (N1 or above).
- Experience in building and analyzing cost/profit scenarios and business cases, and communicating results to the entire organization.
