About the role
Role Overview
As an experienced Digital Marketing professional at IIHS, you will lead and manage the digital marketing function to expand the influence of urban transformation work. Your role involves developing and executing integrated digital marketing strategies tailored to education, research dissemination, capacity development, practice, and digital blended learning. You will be responsible for conducting market research, analysing digital channels, creating high-quality content, managing email marketing and paid advertising, tracking campaign performance, collaborating with teams, and staying updated on evolving digital marketing tools and approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute integrated digital marketing strategies tailored to education, research dissemination, capacity development, practice, and digital blended learning.
- Conduct detailed market, competitor, and audience research to identify opportunities and design impactful campaigns.
- Analyse current digital channels and select platforms that align with audience needs and institutional goals.
- Guide creation and execution of high-quality content (landing pages, video, social posts, infographics, newsletters) as per platform and campaign requirements.
- Coordinate, plan, and manage email marketing, paid advertising, and SEO/SEM to boost engagement and conversions.
- Track campaign performance using analytics; interpret data to optimize strategies, adjust budgets, and report on ROI.
- Collaborate with teams of designers, writers, web developers, and external vendors to deliver cohesive campaigns.
- Stay updated on evolving digital marketing tools and approaches and incorporate new tools and techniques into strategy.
- Assign roles and responsibilities among the Communications and Design team, track outputs and outcomes, and assist in performance reviews and improvement plans.
- Support internal capacity building, including the use of AI for marketing, to improve efficiency, speed, and quality of outputs.
- Create and implement SOPs and guides related to all major areas of work.
- Foster relationships and communicate effectively with other teams at IIHS to help with their digital outreach plans.
- Provide support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, practice, operations, and others.
- Participate in all activities of institution building at IIHS and travel on IIHS work within or outside the country as needed.
Qualifications Required
- Bachelors/Masters degree in Marketing, Media.
- At least 15 years of work experience, with at least 8+ years of established experience in Digital Marketing.
- Strong Digital Marketing knowledge and understanding of the full marketing cycle and the customer journey.
- Proven ability to lead digital campaigns with a portfolio showcasing achievements.
- Excellent analytical thinking, data literacy, and ability to leverage insights for campaign optimization.
- High proficiency in digital tools and platforms such as CMS, Google Analytics, social media, CRM, and project management tools like Notion and Jira.
- Working knowledge of creating marketing assets like videos, web pages, banners, and emails.
- Superior communication skills to collaborate internally and engage with external stakeholders.
- Outstanding project management and process designing abilities to deliver campaigns and assets on time and within budget.
- Digital creativity, innovative storytelling skills, and data visualization abilities would be advantageous.
- Adaptability, willingness to learn new platforms, tools, and approaches.
- Leadership skills for team coordination, training, and adherence to systems and processes.
