The Senior Manager, Marketing Brand Planning is responsible for translating insights from a variety of sources into actionable marketing ideas in terms of helping strategies, tactics, messages, educational programs and other communications. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, conduct the yearly comprehensive full lifecycle brand marketing plan. Responsible for collecting input and product insights from all functional areas of the organization, presenting on a regular basis to the cross functional team, and facilitating a series of small functional meetings and larger cross functional meetings to align on strategic imperatives and tactical priorities.

This role will also support a variety of specific marketing or cross functional projects as needed to help the HCP and Patient Marketing teams execute or measure their tactics The Manager, Marketing Planning will collaborate closely with other functional areas as well as HCPs/KOLs, patient advocacy groups, creative agencies and other external partners to ensure harmony and alignment across the organization for successful commercialization.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop the Commercial brand plans with direction from key project owners.
  • Track implementation and share insights with key stakeholders to meet or exceed marketing plan objectives.
  • Leverage insights from primary Market Research, advisory boards, secondary data sources, competitive intelligence and other information sources to develop brand strategy and tactics.
  • Own all the original Data on File documentation supporting promotional messages on numbers of patients, adherence, number of prescribers, etc.
  • Works independently, effectively and collaborates with other Marketing colleagues, field leadership, MCM/PS, market access, and external agencies/partners by creating effective, positive partnerships that ensure alignment of business needs and objectives.
  • Develop relationships working with external agencies and partners including negotiating contracts which are sensitive to bottom-line Mitsubishi Tanabe Pharma America profitability.
  • Lead specific special marketing projects through all stages of development from planning to execution including working with creative agencies and medical, legal and regulatory reviewers.
  • Assist in developing key analyses and presentations for senior commercial leadership and other stakeholders in support of business development/commercialization planning investment decisions.
  • Ensure that all agency and partner contracts are negotiated and executed according to the plan and in compliance with all applicable policies and regulations.
  • Analyze and present on key market trends.
  • Proactively seek out and evaluate new data sources, tools, and analytics to help improve brand performance, and identify/incorporate industry best practices.
  • Perform company-specific and product-specific desktop research to further inform commercial assessments; support the development/analysis of tailored external market research through third parties.
  • Other duties as needed to support the Marketing and Commercial teams.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • MBA or Graduate level degree preferred.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical market research, marketing, or market access required.
  • Some prior pharmaceutical sales experience is a plus

Knowledge And Skills

  • Strong business acumen, leadership, business case development, and budget management skills; demonstrated ability to leverage insights into brand strategies.
  • Proven ability to work with a cross functional team toward a shared goal.
  • Experience understanding the key forces impacting a pharmaceutical product’s success / failure
  • General knowledge of commercial agreements and intellectual property issues.
  • Leads by example, displaying integrity, collaboration, accessibility, adaptability, sound judgment/decision making, and an entrepreneurial, solutions-oriented attitude.
  • Demonstrates responsiveness, attention to detail, and follow-through coupled with ability to prioritize/multi-task effectively.
  • Use analytical/strategic skills to synthesize complex information, distill critical insights to inform commercial assessments, and translate to tactical level.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office; skilled at using Excel to develop pharmaceutical product forecast models and quantitative analyses.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the Pharma industry, broad therapeutic areas/disease states, drugs/treatments, and related regulatory, commercialization and compliance requirements.

Additional Information

The base salary range for this full-time position is $140,000 - $170,000. Individual pay is determined by several factors, which include but are not limited to: job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The range does not include the comprehensive benefits, incentive compensation, applicable allowances, or any additional compensation that may be associated with this role.
