Description

Leidos is on the lookout for a seasoned communications and marketing expert to boost the Health & Services division through innovative strategies that support growth, enhance brand recognition, and engage audiences both externally and internally. Reporting directly to the VP of Health & Services Communications, this dynamic role will involve crafting and implementing comprehensive communications and marketing initiatives across various channels, including earned, owned, and paid media.

This role requires a proactive individual contributor with the expertise to manage and implement complex campaigns. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong strategic thinking, outstanding writing skills, and hands‑on experience across communications and marketing disciplines, including storytelling, media engagement, digital activation, and targeted paid efforts.

The ideal candidate is well‑versed in federal health, health services, or highly regulated environments, skilled at conveying intricate solutions through compelling, audience‑tailored narratives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and implement integrated communications and marketing strategies aligned with Health & Services business objectives.
  • Utilize a mix of earned, owned, and paid channels to maximize awareness, engagement, and campaign success.
  • Collaborate with corporate Communications & Marketing, Growth, Technology, and other teams to ensure unified planning and execution.

External Communications & Thought Leadership

  • Generate compelling content for external audiences, such as press releases, articles, website copy, social media posts, and campaign messaging.
  • Assist in media relations efforts by developing stories, creating content, pitching to media outlets, and handling press inquiries.
  • Showcase Health & Services leaders and capabilities through impactful thought leadership and storytelling.

Paid Media & Digital Activation

  • Aid in the planning and execution of targeted paid media campaigns, collaborating with Marketing and Brand Experience teams.
  • Develop key messaging and creative content for paid campaigns, ensuring alignment with overarching communications strategies.
  • Monitor campaign performance and apply insights to refine messaging and channel strategies.

Internal Communications & Alignment

  • Create internal communications to engage employees on business priorities, growth initiatives, and customer impacts.
  • Support leadership communications, town halls, and internal campaigns as required.
  • Ensure that internal messaging is consistent with external communications.

Collaboration & Measurement

  • Engage closely with cross‑functional teams across Health & Services, Corporate Communications, Marketing, and Growth.
  • Track and assess communication and marketing efficacy, offering data‑driven suggestions for enhancement.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field with 12+ years of increasing responsibility in communications or marketing roles. Additional experience may substitute for degree requirements.
  • Superb writing and editing skills (including AP Style), capable of translating complex subjects into clear and engaging narratives.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing integrated communications or marketing campaigns.
  • Expertise in media relations with a record of crafting effective earned media strategies and engaging with reporters and spokespeople.
  • Familiarity with digital platforms and basic paid media concepts.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
  • Experience working within matrixed organizations and collaborating with senior stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and collaboration tools (Teams, SharePoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in health, federal health, health services, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Experience with paid media planning, digital advertising, or campaign analytics.
  • Prior experience collaborating with external agencies or vendors.

Pay Range

$105,300.00 – $190,350.00
This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Several factors are accounted for in the offer, including job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market alignment.
