Responsibilities

PRIMARY PURPOSE

Lead and oversee multiple technical and operational teams responsible for Infrastructure, Operations, Network, Cloud Services, and the remediation of security vulnerabilities, delivering reliable, secure, and enterprise wide technology solutions. The role drives transition by empowering team and fostering a culture of continuous improvement aligned with business strategy and customer experience.

Key Accountabilities

  • Leads the oversight of operations and maintenance for data centers, networks and cloud services to enhance business technology product and service delivery.
  • Drives the teams responsible for IT infrastructure maintenance and operations for data centers and networks, ensuring a state of good repair, optimal system performance, and readiness support new technologies and system requirements.
  • Delivers strategic advice and system-related guidance to enterprise-wide business owners. Develops and fosters critical relationships with business owners and drives assessment of business processes and operational efficiencies. Supports business innovation and enables emerging business requirements through IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Oversees end-to-end vulnerability management operational activities, ensuring remediation processes are executed efficiently and in alignment with organizational policies and compliance standards.
  • Leads the implementation and continuous improvement of vulnerability management workflows, including escalation protocols for critical risks and coordination of patching and remediation activities across environments.
  • Direct operational direction by fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring best practices in vulnerability remediation are followed and operational procedures, documentation, and system configurations are updated to support consistent and reliable vulnerability management practices.
  • Maintains compliance with enterprise information security standards. Develops and implements the necessary controls to identify and mitigate risks to IT infrastructure systems, alerting Director and CIO on high-risk issues as they emerge, and recommending corrective action.
  • Manages vendor performance and work with a wide range of technology product providers on developing creative solutions, solving complex, high risk technical issues and enhancing service delivery.
  • Fosters an environment of collaboration, a strong service-focus culture, and enhances customer experience. Directs cross-functional team to provide IT service delivery, including internal and external service providers, according to the established standards and service level agreements.
  • Stay abreast on new techniques, technologies, and industry trends. Leads the team towards modern development practices and techniques.
  • Develops and implements the necessary controls to identify and mitigate risks to enterprise infrastructure services delivery, alerting Director and CIO on high-risk issues as they emerge, and recommending corrective action. Also identifies and leverages opportunities to optimize product deliverables and results.
  • Manage and develop reporting managers and employees, including selection, coaching, performance management, and all other people-management practices.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

The requirements for this job are acquired through a degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline, plus 8 years of experience in management/leadership role in IT infrastructure and Operations. Experience in infrastructure, automation, cloud enablement, and vulnerability remediation in a large enterprise environment is required.

Other Requirements

  • Expert knowledge of data center, network and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with IT Infrastructure vulnerability management concept and patch assessment.
  • Expert product management skills, with emphasis on development and implementation of systems in a large, complex operating environment.
  • Superior business acumen and technical knowledge of multiple business functions, strategies, services and products in the area of agile development and scrum techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including relationship building, advising, consulting, influencing, conflict resolution and presentation/facilitation skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills to plan and drive out implementation processes in accordance with project objectives and timelines.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to identify and assess emerging issues and execute critical system-related business decisions to keep project objectives and timelines on track.
  • Advanced ability to lead and advise a large team of diverse technical and business project resources.

This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C.

Rate of Pay

The salary for this position ranges from $120,560 - $180,840 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
