The Opportunity

As Senior Manager, Web Technology, you will own the technical execution, platform strategy, and operational excellence of grafana.com and its digital experiences. You will lead the web development team and serve as the marketing organization’s primary technical leader for the website. This role involves AI-enabled transformation, engineering craft, marketing velocity, and business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead AI-enabled website transformation to evolve grafana.com into an AI-first, agent-ready platform optimized for humans, search engines, AI assistants, agents, and LLMs.
  • Build practical AI-enabled systems for content workflows, QA, personalization, localization, analytics, experimentation, and web operations.
  • Own the web platform ensuring stability, security, performance, dependability, and ease of evolution.
  • Define standards for reliability, incident handling, operational visibility, platform health, performance, and security hygiene.
  • Improve delivery predictability with clear operating cadences for roadmap reviews, stakeholder updates, prioritization, and delivery accountability.
  • Use automation and AI-assisted workflows to reduce coordination overhead and improve clarity.
  • Partner with marketing, product, design, and engineering to create seamless paths from website visit to product trial and activation.
  • Scale self-serve web operations through strong CMS models, reusable patterns, content and UX guardrails, documentation, and governance.
  • Lead and grow the web team with clarity, accountability, technical judgment, and open communication.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop web developers by raising technical standards and building AI-first development practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong point of view on AI's impact on web strategy, operations, and digital user experiences.
  • Experience leading web engineering teams and building reliable, scalable, high-performing web platforms.
  • Understanding of modern frontend engineering, CMS-driven websites, analytics, integrations, performance, security, launch operations, and AI-enabled digital experiences.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear technical plans, priorities, timelines, tradeoffs, and decisions.
  • Strong operational mindset improving delivery through better systems.
  • Experience mentoring and developing engineers through accountability and ownership.
  • Experience with Next.js, React, TypeScript, Tailwind, Storyblok, Vercel, Algolia, RudderStack, BigQuery, AirOps, or similar tools.
  • Experience using AI to improve engineering workflows, QA, documentation, planning, analytics, experimentation, or operational reporting.
  • Experience creating self-serve systems for marketing, content, events, and regional teams.
  • Experience building AI-enabled web experiences, agent-ready content systems, personalization, chat experiences, or LLM-optimized websites.

Compensation & Rewards

  • US compensation range: $183,858 - $220,630 annually.
  • Includes Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).
  • Compensation varies by level, experience, and skillset.
