THOR Solutions is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Marine Electronics Engineer with a focus on Exterior Communications to join our team. The successful candidate will support the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Ship Design Team in Washington, DC. Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Extensive experience in the development and integration of exterior communications systems for the US Coast Guard or Navy.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in System Architecture, Electronics, Marine Engineering, or a related technical discipline from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • At least eight (8) years of relevant professional experience with systems involving electromagnetic energy transmission, including communications and sensor processing.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience working with C5I systems, with expertise in areas such as Cybersecurity, Command and Control, or Communications.
  • Familiarity with regulations and design rules pertaining to USN, USCG, and ABS.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing electric and electronic systems for power generation, monitoring, and centralized control.
  • Developing technical reports related to C5I systems applied onboard USCG vessels.
  • Evaluating system performance and reviewing specifications, test requirements, and engineering changes.

Work Location

The position is primarily onsite at the USCG Headquarters in Washington, DC, with the possibility of flexible telework arrangements for exceptionally qualified candidates. Anticipated travel is up to 10% for ship checks.

Compensation

The estimated pay range for this position is $110,000 to $140,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Security Clearance

Eligibility for a SECRET security clearance is required, which will be processed after hire. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for security clearance.
