Reporting to the Business Director, BD Specimen Management Canada, the Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for leading the BD Specimen Management (SM) marketing team. Developing and executing strategy on marketing plans, short and long‑term strategy, financial planning, pricing policy, promotional activity, etc.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead BD SM Canada Marketing team – coaching and developing team on marketing competencies, collaborating on teams individual platforms and marketing deliverables.
  • Develop and implement the BD SM strategic marketing plan and ongoing marketing programs.
  • Responsible for developing multi-year business strategy and business plans.
  • Work with Sales Leader, Account Managers and SCDs across Canada to drive sales of BD SM products and services.
  • Represent the Canadian region as a member of the BD SM Global Marketing Council and the BD SM business on the Canadian Marketing Council.
  • Ensure Canadian sales team has appropriate marketing plan and tools for selling.
  • Ensure Canadian requirements are clearly communicated to WW Business via the Market Segment Leaders and other key stakeholders.
  • Plan and execute new product and service launches.
  • Coordinate Annual Financial Budgets and Quarterly Projections.
  • Represent Marketing on the BD SM Canada management team.
  • Manage portfolios for BD SM Canada.

Education and Experience required

  • Bachelor's of Science or Business Degree.
  • 7 years of medical device experience in marketing/product management.
  • Direct experience in developing and executing marketing plans and managing a team.
  • Direct experience in forecasting with proven track record of achieving and exceeding financial targets.
  • Strong understanding of the Life Sciences Segment (Clinical Diagnostics and/or Research).
  • Knowledge and experience of the Canadian Healthcare System and regulatory environment.

  • Strategic marketing skills combined with strong tactical implementation skills.
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated comfort working directly with customers.
  • Must exhibit creativity and vision.
  • Ability to engage and develop direct report(s) and interact effectively with all management levels.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Entrepreneurial, with creative spirit and vision.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated expertise in marketing excellence: proven skills in driving strategic offerings.
  • Ability to develop deep insights from relationships, analytics and research to inform marketing plans.
  • Demonstrated ability in market planning and execution for sales effectiveness.
  • Ability to work in cross‑functional team, fostering environment of customer centricity with bias to action.

Preferred Qualifications and Physical Demands

  • MBA preferred.
  • Bilingual in French and English – an asset.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%.

Salary range

Salary range: $128,000 – $178,000 CAD annual.
