About the Role
The Sr Marketing Operations Specialist supports and optimizes the marketing technology stack, executes campaigns, maintains data hygiene, and ensures operational alignment across marketing. This role partners closely with marketing, sales, and revenue operations to drive growth initiatives and pipeline growth.
Responsibilities
- Set up, test, and deploy marketing campaigns including email, webinars, and events using Customer.io.
- Build and code emails using HTML and Liquid code.
- Maintain accuracy and cleanliness of marketing data within Salesforce and Customer.io.
- Manage lead capture, enrichment workflows, and routing using Clay and Cargo.
- Administer, optimize, and troubleshoot marketing technology stack including Customer.io, Salesforce, Clay, Cargo, and Tray.io.
- Support monthly and ad hoc marketing performance reporting, campaign analysis, and dashboard management.
- Document and help streamline processes for campaign operations, lead management, and attribution.
- Build, manage, and optimize automation workflows in Tray.io supporting PLG and sales-led motions.
- Partner with growth, sales, and revenue operations to align on campaign execution, pipeline quality, and program impact.
Expectations
- Learn and master marketing automation, CRM, and related marketing tech in first 45 days.
- Consistently execute campaign setup, QA, and launch with high accuracy and timeliness.
- Proactively surface data quality or process issues and collaborate on solutions.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with initiative and accountability.
- Demonstrate ownership for assigned tasks and mature project management skills.
- Build quickly, iterate swiftly, and be deliverable-driven.
What Success Looks Like
- Within 45 days: Full working knowledge of Customer.io and Tray.io; independently executing campaign builds and QA.
- Within 90 days: Owning at least one automation workflow end to end in Tray.io and maintaining clean data flows between Salesforce and Customer.io.
- Ongoing: Campaign launches executed on time with high accuracy and minimal rework; email modules are scalable and reusable.
- Ongoing: Proactively identifying process gaps and proposing solutions independently.
- Ongoing: Trusted cross-functional partner with strong stakeholder feedback.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in marketing operations, revenue operations, or related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, analytics, or related field (or relevant internship/work experience).
- Experience in marketing technology, data analytics, and digital marketing operations.
- Advanced proficiency in Liquid code for dynamic email content.
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce and Customer.io or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.
- Highly detail-oriented, analytical, and organized.
- Ability to own projects end to end with minimal oversight.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- 4+ years using marketing automation and CRMs.
- Experience in senior B2B SaaS or technology industry.
- Experience in blended sales-led/PLG models.
- Experience in event operations.
- Experience with Sales Engagement Platforms.
- Experience with automation and workflow tools such as Tray.io, Zapier, or AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with AI/LLM tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, or similar.
Compensation
- Base Pay Range: $65,000 — $90,000 USD
- Compensation packages include base salary, equity, and/or variable pay (OTE).
