Mechanical Engineer III

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer responsible for designing, building, and debugging advanced handling and process equipment used in a glass manufacturing environment. This role requires strong hands-on experience and collaboration with cross-functional teams including mechanical, electrical, controls, facilities, IT, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal project teams to understand and define design requirements
• Develop detailed mechanical designs for manufacturing equipment
• Lead and support equipment installation, start-up, and debugging at factory sites
• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support during installation
• Verify equipment build and layout against engineering drawings
• Coordinate installation plans with safety teams and plant stakeholders
• Work with vendors and engineers to resolve design and build issues
• Manage mechanical and electrical trades during installation and commissioning

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in mechanical equipment design
• Proficiency in SolidWorks
• Strong experience with structural FEA analysis
• Hands-on experience with equipment design, installation, start-up, and debugging in manufacturing environments
• Knowledge of machine guarding and safety standards (OSHA, etc.)
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams and external vendors
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in diverse team environments

• Experience in glass manufacturing or high-temperature industrial environments
