Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote)

Our client, a leading innovator in mechanical systems, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic, fully remote team. Responsibilities: Lead the design, development, and testing of complex mechanical components and systems, adhering to stringent performance and reliability requirements. Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) for detailed 3D modeling, drafting, and assembly design. Conduct thorough Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations to optimize designs and predict performance under various conditions. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems. Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including technical specifications, bills of materials (BOMs), and manufacturing drawings. Perform root cause analysis on design issues and implement effective corrective actions. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in mechanical engineering technologies, materials science, and manufacturing processes. Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance and technical expertise. Manage project timelines and deliverables for assigned mechanical design tasks within a remote working environment. Contribute to design reviews, ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development. Proficiency in industry-standard CAD and CAE software. Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, and materials science. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a distributed team. Experience with agile development methodologies is preferred. A strong portfolio showcasing complex mechanical designs is highly advantageous. Must be legally authorized to work in Nigeria and capable of maintaining a dedicated, distraction-free home office environment.
