Senior Mechanical Draughtsman

What you’ll be doing

• Producing 3D models, plant layouts and detailed fabrication drawings using SolidWorks
• Designing industrial plant systems, mechanical equipment and large assemblies
• Creating general arrangement drawings, DXF files and manufacturing-ready documentation
• Supporting engineers, project teams and workshop staff with practical design solutions
• Compiling Bills of Materials and assisting with procurement and costing
• Participating in design reviews and improving internal drawing standards
• Supporting projects from concept design through fabrication, installation and commissioning

What we’re looking for

• Mechanical Draughting Diploma or relevant Engineering qualification
• Minimum 5 years’ SolidWorks design experience
• Proven experience producing fabrication and manufacturing drawings
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and workshop processes
• Experience with structural steel, sheet metal and mechanical assemblies
• Exposure to industrial plant design will be a strong advantage

Software & technical skills

• SolidWorks (essential)
• AutoCAD
• 3D modelling of large assemblies
• Structural steel and sheet metal design
• Industrial layouts, ducting, conveyors or material handling systems
• SolidWorks Simulation or FEA experience is advantageous
