Senior Mechanical Engineer

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• English proficiency (B2+); German or French is a plus.
• CAD experience with Siemens NX and CATIA V5.
• Strong GD&T knowledge and tolerance analysis skills.
• Understanding of plastic part design and tooling basics.
• Basic FEM knowledge.
• Familiarity with FMEA and quality assurance methods.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical concept development, requirements analysis, feasibility studies, and 3D/2D design.
• Review and release technical concepts, drawings, and documentation.
• Conduct design reviews, implement improvements, and perform tolerance stack-up calculations.
• Coordinate prototype build, integration, and optimization.
• Ensure product maturity, budget, timing, and quality targets are met; initiate countermeasures when needed.
• Involve experts early in the project and coordinate mechanical engineers across locations.
• Manage 3D/2D data exchange with customers and suppliers.
• Responsible for communication with customers and suppliers from the early RFQ phases.
• Support customer for decisions regarding design implementation.
• Support cost-reduction initiatives and promote standardization and reuse.
• Provide status updates within the mechanical engineering function.
• Mentor and support new team members.
