About the job
Pheonics is seeking a mechanical engineer who will be designing, testing and maintaining different aspects of our sensing products and technologies, their accessories as well as production systems. The key focus is on the sensor and related application development. Rheonics technical and operations team is based in multiple locations worldwide and use English as the common language internally. This position is based in Winterthur, Switzerland.
Responsibilities
- Product design, sensor development and testing
- Application development, conducting experiments, and data processing
- Designing, testing, building, and commissioning production and calibration systems
- Interact with external partners for manufacturing
- CFD and FEM Simulation (CFD (basic), buckling analysis, FEM analysis, modal analysis)
- Working closely with RD teams
- Supervise and instruct technicians in production
- Clean and detailed documentation of RD and production-related activities
- Project management
- Cooperate with team members to resolve problems related to anything mechanical
- Adopting collaboration tools and agile methodologies currently used by Rheonics team members
Qualifications
- Strong MSc or PhD in Mechanical, Mechatronics, experimental physics or similar fields
- Strong experimental background and experience with measurement systems
- Strong background in measurement technology
- Ability to build and test prototypes and production systems
- Experience with structural and modal simulations, preferably with COMSOL
- Fluency in English and German – written and verbal
- Experience with 3D CAD programs (SolidEdge desirable)
- Passionate about precision, automation and high quality
- Experience in data processing and reporting tools
- Experience with MATLAB, Python, Git
Desirable:
- Experience with sensor development

- Experience with automated systems
