Our client, a prominent player in the automotive industry, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the design, development, and testing of advanced automotive systems. This role is based in **Abeokuta, Ogun, NG**, and offers a hybrid work arrangement, blending on-site collaboration with remote flexibility. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering principles, with a specific focus on automotive components, powertrains, chassis, or vehicle dynamics. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and ensuring the performance, reliability, and efficiency of our client's vehicles.

Responsibilities: Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems for automotive applications, including engines, transmissions, suspension, and braking systems. Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, using advanced simulation tools (e.g., FEA, CFD). Create and refine engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) using CAD software. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing personnel, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems. Develop and execute test plans for validating component and system performance, durability, and reliability. Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and implement corrective actions. Lead and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support. Stay abreast of emerging automotive technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Contribute to product development strategy and roadmap planning. Ensure compliance with automotive standards (e.g., ISO/TS 16949) and regulatory requirements. Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback. Manage project timelines and deliverables for assigned mechanical engineering tasks. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is highly preferred. Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering, with a significant focus on the automotive sector. Proven experience in the design and development of automotive systems or components. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and CAE tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to automotive production. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication abilities. Experience working in a hybrid environment, managing responsibilities both remotely and on-site. Familiarity with the automotive landscape in Nigeria, particularly in the Ogun State region, is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical projects.
